India needs to combat climate change immediately. Otherwise, it will be pushed into extreme poverty which will affect mainly the rural population, food security and farmers of the country. It is also predicted that by 2050, Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh will become top two climate hotspots of India.

From the current 2 degree celsius, India has agreed to limit its temperature rise to 1.5 degree celsius under the Paris Climate Agreement.
