Why 5 Crore Indian Children Can’t Do Basic Math

India’s investment in its early childhood program is enormous. Its anganwadi network is one of its kind in the world with 1.2 million anganwadis catering to 100 million children across the country. Even then, why do 5 crore children in primary schools do not have language foundation and numeric skills?
