2021: IndiaSpend Stories On Climate Adaptation, Gender Win Awards
IndiaSpend writers Disha Shetty and Tish Sanghera won an honourable mention at the Society of Environmental Journalists’ 20th Annual Awards for Reporting for the special IndiaSpend series, on Environment Undone. The series was published in partnership with the Pulitzer Center for Crisis Reporting.
In November, IndiaSpend received jury appreciation for two stories at the Laadli Media Awards for Gender Sensitivity. The first was for IndiaSpend writer Parth M.N.’s story on Bihar’s women struggle against illicit liquor and drugs after the state banned consumption of alcohol following a women’s movement.
IndiaSpend reporter Sadhika Tiwari also won a jury appreciation for her story on why contraception is still considered the responsibility of women.
