Here are some interesting facts to know about the issuance of visas to foreign nationals in August 2013.

Total visas issued to foreign nationals fell to 21 % to 1,87,615 in August from July. Of that, 75% issued were tourist visas and business (19%) viass.

Bangladesh had the largest chunk of tourist visas issued followed by Sri Lanka & UAE.

In the 'pilgrimage' category, 69 visas were issued and all them were to Pakistan.

Only 1.4% students visas were issued. Nigeria (11%), Bangladesh (9%) and USA (7%) constituted 27% of students visas issued.
