India has the second-highest number of obese children in the world. According to a study by The New England Journal of Medicine, it has 14.4 million obese children in the age group of 5-19.
The number, however, is predicted to shoot up to 27 million by 2030. This is because India has a zero percent chance to meet World Health Organisation’s target of ‘no increase in obesity prevalence by 2025.’
