Millions of people across the world have been displaced by war, violence religious persecution and disasters. The world is seeing unprecedented numbers of refugees and asylum seekers.

In India alone, the number of refugees will increase by 41000 in 2019 from the 2.1 lakh people it hosted in 2018. Most refugees in India are from Sri Lanka and Tibet. Currently, there are 19000 rohingya refugees from Myanmar in India.

Displacement of people is globally on the rise. Since 2017, 2.3 million people were forcibly displaced across the world. In 2018, war & violence displaced many of the nearly 71 million people worldwide.

Among them 26 million are refugees, 41.3 million are internally displaced people and 3.5 million are asylum seekers. 2/3rd of all refugees in the world are from Syrian Arab Republic, Afghanistan, South Sudan, Myanmar and Somalia.
